14 killed in holiday traffic

(Atlanta, GA) — Fourteen fatal traffic crashes were reported across Georgia during the 78-hour Labor Day holiday travel period. The crashes resulted in 14 traffic deaths.

Georgia State Troopers arrested 225 people for driving under the influence.

The official holiday travel period began at 6:00 p.m. Friday and lasted through 11:59 p.m. on Monday.

GSP worked 10 of the fatalities while local law enforcement agencies worked four. Thirteen fatalities were reported during the same period in 2012.
