2012 Special Olympic Spring Games

Heard County Special Olympics Athletes participated in Coweta County Annual Spring Track and Field Competition held at East Coweta High School in Sharpsburg, Georgia.

The opening ceremony began with an exciting parade of each school around the track. This increased the intensity of the competition which ended with hard-working award-winning athletes.

Another main feature of the day was Olympic Town. Olympic Town is a small carnival packed with fun, games, and many prizes. Also, there were rides, a petting zoo, face painting, free food, and a dance area.

Everyone enjoyed the priceless peer interaction between the athletes and volunteers and the friendly but competitive athletic events among Heard County and Coweta County Special Olympics athletes.

The Heard County Local Special Olympics Chapter expresses thanks for the continued support of the Heard County School System and the Heard County Community.

Because of people like you, our athletes experience athletic success and personal satisfaction which will benefit them for a lifetime.
