2014 HCMS Iron Brave Awards

(Franklin) — The Heard County Middle School football team held their annual Iron Brave competition last week at HCMS.

8th-grade student Gage Cannon claimed the overall prize with 89 points in the event which consists of several strength, speed, and agility drills. Finishing in a strong second place was Will Posey with 85.5 points. Not far behind Posey was Will Leak with 84 points.

Rounding out the top eight were David Urquilla (73 points), Trey Dunson (68 points), Michael Cheney (65.5 points), Connor Nutt(65 points), and Riley Diedrich (64 points).

Four athletes tied for ninth place with 62.5 points including Logan Moran, Jacob Skipper, Komari Clark, and Paul Elkins.

Coach Allen Sikes and the defending conference champion HCMS Braves football team travel to Central Wednesday, August 20 for a scrimmage game (5:00) and open the regular season at home versus Callaway on August 28 (5:00).
