2nd Annual Bravy Awards Show set for May 15

Heard County Middle School and HeardCitizen.com are excited to announce that they will be hosting the second annual Bravy Awards Show at the middle school gym on May 15, 2013 beginning at 6:30 p.m.

It will be the second year for this event which will feature entertainment and the presentation of several county-wide awards to athletes, coaches, cheerleaders, and even team managers.

All levels of Heard County sports will be recognized including the recreation department, middle school, high school, band, cheerleading and Special Olympics.

This year’s entertainment will include the National Anthem performed by middle school student Caylee Meacham, a performance by the HCMS Show Choir, and vocal entertainment by Heard High Graduate Lindsay Orr.

Some examples of the special honors (which are based loosely on the ESPY awards that are hosted each year by ESPN) will be awards for the  Male and Female Athletes of the Year, Best Moment, Team of the Year, Best T-Ball Player and Breakthrough Athlete of the Year just to name a few.

This year’s show will be free for all to enter but donations will be accepted at the door. Those who make a minimum donation of $5 will also receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win some excellent door prizes. Concessions will be available that night so everyone is encouraged to grab something to eat at the show.

All proceeds from the event will go to benefit the HCMS athletic programs. Sponsors are needed for the event so if you would like to advertise your business and help support this awesome community event you may contact Coach Allen Sikes at (706) 675-9247 or Russ Massa at (770) 262-2818. You may also email editor@heardcitizen.com for more information. All donations are tax deductible!

All nominations for the awards will be announced via HeardCitizen.com during the week of May 5-9 so stay tuned for further info in the coming days. Thanks to everyone for your awesome support of HCMS Athletics!
