4-H Summer Camp Opportunities!

(Franklin) — The Heard County Extension Office is taking registration for 4-H Summer Camp.  There are five camp opportunities offered to students of all ages.

4-H Camps are offered to all students in the county. Camp Sign-Up has begun but there are spots available.   Register for camps at the Heard County Extension Office located at the Old River Gym which is now the 4-H office.

A $100 non-refundable deposit is due upon registration with the remainder of the fee to be paid by April 30th.  Camp registration will remain open until camps are full. Please ask about our partial scholarships!

2015 4-H Summer Camps

4hCloverleaf Camp at Rock Eagle 4-H Center is open to current 4th-6th grade students.  It will be held June 1-5.  The cost of camp is $300 which includes meals, lodging, transportation to and from camp, insurance and all camp activities.  Camper experiences include canoeing, archery, swimming, putt-putt, ropes course and other fun workshops and activities. Transportation will be provided.

Junior Camp at Fortson 4-H Center in Hampton, Georgia is open to current 7th-8th grade students.  It will be held June 15-19.  The cost of camp is $345.  While at camp, 4-H’ers will experience the sky hike and laser show at Stone Mountain, dinner, dance and a talent show at Hard Rock Cafe, plus a fun night of bowling. Transportation will be provided.

Wilderness Challenge Camp is open to current 7th-9th grade students.  It will be held July 14-18 at Wahsega 4-H Center in Dahlonega.  The cost of camp is $355 and includes all expenses.  This camp is not for the faint of heart!  Campers will experience whitewater rafting, caving, geocaching, archery, fishing, outdoor cooking, and much more.

Senior Camp at Fortson 4-H Center is open to current 9th-12th grade students.  It will be held June 29-July 3.  The cost of camp is $340.  Campers will enjoy a trip to the UGA campus at Athens, a skating/bowling night, high ropes course, movie night at the pool, and the opportunity to experience life as a 4-H Camp Counselor.

Senior Extreme Camp at Rock Eagle is available for 9-12th grade students. It will be held June 8-12. Senior Extreme Camp will include canoeing and fishing on the Ocmulgee River, shooting shotguns and archery, and zip lining. We’ll night hike the trails at Rock Eagle, watch an outdoor movie, run milk with the Counselors, attend the Counselor Variety Show, participate in the Rock Eagle Pageant and more! We’ll also cook meals on the campfire and spend the night in open-air huts and tents each night at Pioneer Camp at Rock Eagle.
