8U Little Braves wrap up football season with big win

The 8U Little Braves C-Bracket Kenneth Farmer Bowl Champion players, coaches, cheerleaders, and managers after the exciting win over Carroll County Maroon at Staples Stadium

(Franklin, GA) — The 8U Braves finished off a solid season on Saturday, November 2 at Staples Stadium with a 37-13 win over Carroll County Maroon in the C- Bracket Championship game of the First Annual Kenneth Farmer Bowl (formerly the Kiwanis Bowl).

The 8U squad coached by Jay Endicott earned the spot in the title game by defeating Carroll County Silver 35-0 on October 26 at Bowdon High School.

Several of the Little Braves had big efforts offensively in the title game win over CC Maroon including Connor Autrey and Molando Bonner who each scored two touchdowns.

The big playmaker on defense was Bryson Hayward who hauled down a Pick-6 interception for a TD to put the Braves on top 18-6 in the third quarter. Hayward also scored a TD and had the game’s only PAT on offense.

Other members of the 8U Championship team were Colby Buchanan, Eli Cosper, Bentley Dewberry, Conner Buchanan, Bryson Shelnutt, Jacob Doyle, Maximus Williamson, Tucker Coleman, Gavin Cosper, Carter Williams, Waylon Taylor, Landon Garrett, Cannon Cosper, Hunter Shaw, Andrew Hausler, Noah Radloff, Elijah Edghill, Bentley West, Daniel Allen, Skylar Thomas, and Mason Matthews.

The 10U Braves coached by Jeffrey Hodges dropped a 26-12 heart-breaker to Villa Rica in the same C-Bracket Championship game at HCHS.

The game was tied at 12-12 with just 1:38 to play in the game before the Wildcats pulled away. Zach Donnell, Amari Heath, and QB Benjamin Schory led the way for the Braves in the loss.

Donnell had an interception and a TD run that tied the game late. Heath had a TD run to put the Braves on the board in the first half.

The 10U Braves earned their spot in the title game with a 25-7 win over Carroll County Silver under the lights in Franklin on Tuesday, October 29.

Benjamin Schory led the offense from the QB spot with a nice TD pass to Amari Heath and an interception on defense. Zack Donnell took a fumble to the house on the last play of the game for a TD.

Jack Langley had a monster game with two first half TD runs.

The 12U Braves coached by Joe Jones fell 27-12 on the road at Bremen on Saturday, October 26 to end their season.

Ethan Tisdale led the way for the 12U Braves with a TD run and a 33-yard TD pass to Bradford Hadley.
