An Alabama woman was killed Sunday afternoon in a single vehicle accident on Hwy 34 West near the Georgia/Alabama line.
According to a spokesperson for the Georgia State Patrol, Karen Darby Pitts, a 55-year-old female from Roanoke, was headed westbound at the time of the accident.
Troopers report that she left the roadway and then overcorrected causing the vehicle to cross the roadway and overturn off the south shoulder of the highway.
Pitts was ejected from the vehicle and according to the report was not wearing a seat belt. No further information is available at this time.
