Drivers of two vehicles were injured yesterday afternoon in an accident on U.S. HWY 27 near the Carroll County line.
The Georgia State Patrol report indicated that a 2000 Ford pickup truck driven by 69-year-old Jerry Bussey, of Franklin, was attempting to turn left on to Gum Creek Airport Road and turned into the path of a 1998 Chrysler Sebring.
The Sebring was driven by 21-year-old Leah M. Alexander of Carrollton.
The crash occurred at 12:48 p.m. and resulted in injuries to both drivers who were transported to Tanner Hospital in Carrollton.
Bussey’s granddaughter, Caity Bailey, said today that her grandfather had a lot of soreness and swelling, but overall no major injuries. He was released from Tanner at about 7:00p.m. yesterday.
Sources also indicate that Alexander was released from the hospital shortly after being admitted with minor injuries.
Bussey was charged with failing to yield while turning left.
