AFC North Honored on CNN’s “Salute to the Troops”

AFC Kristina Marie North received the surprise of a lifetime when she arrived at the Atlanta Airport from Airforce Basic and advanced training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas on April 18, 2012.

Kristina and her parents, Alton and Lisa North of Centralhatchee, Georgia, had carefully planned on her father meeting her at the airport so she could surprise her younger brothers and sisters at school and home.

Much to Kristina’s surprise, CNN’s Robin Meade was there and she filmed the emotional homecoming. AFC North was honored on Robin Meade’s “Salute to the Troops” on CNN April 23, 2012. The video can be viewed on www.HLNTV.com.

AFC Kristina Marie North, United States Air Force, graduated from basic training on January 8, 2012 and advanced training on April 16, 2012 from Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. The impressive graduation ceremony, including a fly over salute, was attended by her proud family.

She was a 2011 Heard County High School Graduate. Kristin’as proud parents are Alton and Lisa North of Centralhatchee. Her proud grandparents are Glen and Jackie Neighbors and the late Rev. Hershel North and Retha Sue Adams.

After working with the Air Force recruiting office in Douglasville, Georgia and a much deserved leave, Kristina will be stationed at Minot Air Force Base, Minot, North Dakota. –Courtesy of the Times~Journal
