(LaGrange GA) — In recognition of America Recycles Day, Keep Troup Beautiful and Pratt Industries in conjunction with The Habitat for Humanity ReStore in LaGrange and Charter Bank would like to invite all businesses and households in the surrounding counties to get involved on Thursday November 8th in America Recycles Day.
“Did you know that paper and cardboard products make up the largest part-approximately 75% percent- of our trash?” said Dawn Smith of Pratt Recycling. As a result this day of recycling will feature secure onsite document and paper shredding through “A Cut Above Shredding.” Dawn continued to say that larger recycle quantities could be arranged by “pulping” at the Pratt 100% Recycled Paper Mill in Conyers Georgia. In addition, certificates of destruction can also be issued for van and semi truckloads. If you are interested in recycling larger quantities please call Dawn Smith at (404) -218-3650.
A Cut Above Shredding from Conyers GA will be providing their mobile shredding truck and according to Ken Carter “ is capable of shredding up to 1,000 pounds of paper an hour.” In order to ensure compliance with governmental regulations Ken continued to say that after destruction, your destroyed material will be taken to a secured recycling facility.
This provides a great opportunity to clean out your garages, homes and businesses and recycle scrap metal, appliances, aluminum beverage cans, artwork, furniture, gym equipment, building supplies and other household items.

Through volunteer labor, efficient management, proceeds from the ReStore and donations of money and materials, Habitat homes are built and sold to partner families at no profit. They are financed with affordable, no interest mortgages, geared to the families’ financial circumstances.
Habitat for Humanity is not a give-away program. In addition to the mortgage payments, each homeowner contributes 500 hours of unpaid labor into the building of their home and other homes. This is called “Sweat Equity”. Sweat equity increase pride of ownership and reduces Habitat’s costs.
