(Centralhatchee) — Orange and black balloons, scarecrows and the smell of freshly cooked popcorn will help set the mood for the Centralhatchee Elementary PTO Fall Festival & Community BINGO game that will be held on Saturday evening, October 19th.
The Fall Festival is open from 5:00 – 7:00 in the old post and beam gym next to the school and BINGO is played in the school cafeteria. All types of traditional carnival games such as Duck Pond, Orange Tree, 2 liter Drink Toss, Cake Walk, Toy Walk and Bull Horn Toss are offered along with many more.
In addition to the numerous games, there will be lots of yummy food available such as hot dogs, cotton candy, snow cones, pop corn and funnel cake! The Fall Festival has been a tradition in the Centralhatchee community for over 50 years.
Mrs. Irma Shelnutt, former teacher and Centralhatchee Principal, reflected on her memories of the late 1940’s. She noted, “The Centralhatchee Fall Festival was well-known in this community as a time that friends and neighbors could come together to have a night of fun. The kids and the adults alike always looked forward to, and enjoyed the festivities.”
Dr. Carol Thomas, current Centralhatchee Principal stated, “It’s enjoyable to see the large crowd of students, parents, grandparents and community members come to enjoy the Fall Festival and BINGO each year. The Centralhatchee Fall Festival provides the community with an affordable night of fun for the entire family. We are thrilled to be a part of this long-held tradition!”
Everyone is invited to attend the Centralhatchee Fall Festival, which is the major fundraiser for the Centralhatchee PTO each year.
