Arrest made in string of Carroll County car break-ins

(Carroll County, GA) — The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest in the string of car break-ins that occurred in June of this year.

Jacqueline Ballard, age 52 of Mt. Zion Road in Atlanta has been arrested and charged for her participation in the string of car break-ins.

Ballard was taken into custody on July 2, 2016 on the following charges: Seven counts of Entering Auto, two counts of Financial Transaction, two counts Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor, and one count Violation of the Georgia RICO Act. She has been released on a $30,000 bond.

According to a press release, Ballard is one of four people being charged in connection with the string of car break-ins that happened on June 11, 2016 on Tanner’s Beach Road at the ball field and park area.

Two juveniles have also been charged in connection with the break-ins and use of the financial cards after the fact.

After a news release when the break-ins occurred, the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office began receiving calls concerning the identities of those posted online and television of the suspects using the ATM cards.

Authorities also learned quickly that these same suspects were being sought in other jurisdictions throughout the Atlanta area.

Carroll County Investigator Greg Holcomb was instrumental in orchestrating a joint operation with the affected jurisdictions and the sharing of information.

Based on intelligence gathered during the joint operation, Carroll County has filed RICO charges for the racketeering and ongoing criminal enterprise that these individuals have been operating.
