Authorities searching for suspects after convenience store clerk shot during armed robbery

(Franklin, GA) — A convenience store clerk is expected to make a full recovery after being shot three times during an armed robbery Sunday near the Glenn community in southwestern Heard County.

According to a report from Investigator Sgt. Dan Boswell of the Heard County Sheriff’s Office, the clerk is fortunate to be alive and multiple suspects are wanted on armed robbery and attempted murder charges.

The alleged incident took place at around 1:00 PM Sunday afternoon at the Glenn Superette store located at the intersection of Rock Mills Road and McCosh Mill Road just inside the Heard/Troup County line.

Sgt. Boswell says this is the fourth time this year the store has been the location of either an armed robbery or burglary but this is the first time someone was injured.

Several witnesses were on the premises at the time of the shooting but the suspects have yet to be identified or located.

Boswell says he believes the suspects have likely fled the area.

Specific information about the identity of the male clerk was unavailable in the report, but other sources indicate he may be the owner of the business. He was life-flighted to Columbus Regional Hospital.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with any information about the shooting is asked to contact Investigator Boswell at 706-675-3329.

  1. Surely with four issues in less than 12 months they have cameras installed and can provide images of the robbers so the community can help identify them.

I hope he is ok. The kids these days sure have made this a dangerous place. In my day, we all used to go there, back when it was still the Sack-o-Suds.
