Big Changes At The Development Authority

(Franklin) — On Tuesday, August 11th Julie Pope, Executive Director of the Development Authority of Heard County, tendered her resignation to the board of directors.

Julie served as executive director for 11 years. Julie worked to enrich the quality of life within Heard County through efforts to encourage new and expanding economic growth.

She worked to achieve economic development in order to create employment opportunities, increase the tax base, and diversify the economic quality of life for all Heard County citizens.

During her tenure, she was instrumental in the start up of Plasti-Paint Inc., the expansion of Rite Made Fabrication, the expansion of JAC Products as well as the start up of The Crown Group just to name a few.

Julie worked very closely with our regional development authority to accommodate the needs of Heard County businesses.

“My heart does and will always belong to Heard County. I would like to thank all my friends, family and colleagues for their loyal support through the years,” states Pope. “I wish nothing but the best for the Development Authority moving forward.”

Charles “Skip” Jones of the Heard County Development Authority also stepped down as the Chairman but will continue to serve as a member on the board.
