Boil Water Notice lifted for Heard County

(Franklin, GA) — A Boil Water Notice issued by the Heard County Water Authority this week following the extensive power outages caused by Tropical Storm Zeta has been lifted.

According to Bryant Snyder with the Heard County Water Authority, all water samples taken this week were negative for contamination and customers no longer need to boil their water before use.

A large portion of Heard County (more than 50%) experienced a loss of power after the storm passed through early Thursday morning.

The outages caused the closing of Heard County schools both Thursday and Friday with many businesses and residences losing power for multiple days.

As of Sunday afternoon, there are still 127 Georgia Power customers on HWY 34 East between Franklin and Powers Crossroads that are still affected.
