Brave Cross Country teams compete at GHSA Finals

(Carrollton, GA) — The Heard County Braves Cross Country teams competed at the GHSA State Championships on November 7 at Carrollton High School.

The Region 5-AA runner-up Brave men’s team earned a 17th place finish at the meet.

Leading the way were seniors Ethan Lawson and Bailey Scarborough who finished in 98th and 106th place respectively in the large field of over 200 male runners.

Other point scorers for the Braves were sophomore Eli Lawson (111), sophomore Tyler Brewer (118), freshman Rowdie Epps (120), sophomore Caelan Hasty (128), and junior Andrew King (173).

In the girls’ race, senior Region 5-AA Champion Annie Bradley earned a solid 49th place among the elite field of 165 runners.

Bradley finished the 5K race in 24:51.45 minutes.

Other Lady Braves scoring points in the race included senior Kimberly Loutzenheiser (93), Mary Moreland (120), and junior Lily Barr (160).

The Braves Cross Country teams were led by first year head coach Ashley White.
