Brave Nation 2018 Homecoming Week

(Franklin, GA  ) — Heard County High School’s annual homecoming week celebration is next week and will feature several traditional events for both students and the local community.

The homecoming football game will take place Friday, September 21 when the Braves take on region foe the Greenwave of Spencer High School. The theme for this year is “Heard County’s Got Game.”

Highlighting the week-long festivities will be the crowning of the 2018 Homecoming Queen during halftime of the game and the crowning of the Homecoming King during a special assembly Friday afternoon in the Heard High gymnasium.

The HHS homecoming court consists of six senior females and six senior males, as well as one female and one male representative from the freshmen, sophomore, and junior classes.

This year’s female court includes seniors Jessica Kirkpatrick, Alexus Crawford, Ellie Googe, Lora Glover, Samantha Minix, and Katelyn Duncan.

The representatives include junior Betty Covington, sophomore Juliann Carpenter, and freshman Lydia Craven.

The male court includes seniors Brenden Thompson, Collin Wright, Jacob Stephens, Komari Clark, Alijah Huzzie, and Duncan Googe.

The male underclassmen representatives are junior Jacorian Allen, sophomore Josh Caldwell, and freshman Chance Brown.

The dress up days for homecoming week at HCHS are one of the more popular aspects for students and include Pajama Day (Monday), Video Game Characters (Tuesday), Game Night (Wednesday), Celebrity Guess Who (Thursday) and Game On! Class Spirit Day (Friday).

The biggest event for the children in the community is the annual Homecoming Parade which takes place Thursday afternoon, Sept. 20 at 4:30 on the square in downtown Franklin.
