(Franklin) — Each week HeardCitizen.com brings you a weekly wrap-up of Brave Nation sports including news, notes, a weekly schedule, and the Brave Nation Player of the Week.

NEWS AND NOTES

Lazy Donkey Spirit Night — The Lazy Donkey in Carrollton will host Heard County “Spirit Night” on Tuesday, April 26 beginning at 5:00 PM. T-shirts will be available.

Auction Numbers — The Silent Auction raised about $25,000 over the weekend for the athletics program, a higher number than initially anticipated.

Senior Night — Varsity baseball will honor its senior players with a pregame ceremony before today’s Bowdon game at Alford Field.

Butler POWBrave Nation Player of the Week: The Player of the Week is HCMS Track Athlete Ms. Rachel Butler.

Rachel had an outstanding finals meet at Carrollton High School Saturday scoring 22 points and being named overall female Track Event MVP.

Congratulations to Rachel for being named this week’s Player of the Week!

State Tennis Playoffs — The male and female tennis teams will host state playoff matches today at HHS. See schedule below for more information.

Spring Sports Banquet — The HHS Spring Sports Banquet will take place on May 18.

New Sport — HHS will add fishing as a sport for the 2016-2017 school year.
