NEWS AND NOTES

Softball Super Regionals — Cali Harrod and the FSU Seminoles softball team took the first step to a National Championship by winning last weekend’s Regional. The Noles will host Utah this weekend in the Super Regional and with a win in the best-of-3 series would advance to the NCAA Softball World Series in Oklahoma City June 2-8.

Spring Sports Banquet — The HHS athletic department hosted its spring sports banquet last Wednesday. Stay tuned to HeardCitizen.com for a complete list of winners in the next few days.

Hannah 2Brave Nation Players of the Week: The Co-Players of the Week are Seniors Hannah Rogers(R) and Jaime Conlan (L).

Hannah and Jaime were valedictorian and salutatorian respectively for the Class of 2016 which graduated last week and were also co-star students.

Congratulations to Hannah and Jaime for being named this week’s Co-Players of the Week!

NAIA World Series — The Point University (West Point, GA) Skyhawks baseball team is headed to the Avista-NAIA World Series in Lewiston, Idaho this weekend to compete for a National Championship. Two former Braves, sophomore infielder Taylor Smith and junior pitcher Dalton Reed are on the roster for the Skyhawks. Point will take on Sterling College (Kansas) in the first game of the tourney Friday morning at 9:00 AM.

Hot Prospect — Brave junior QB Emory Jones continues to receive D-1 scholarship offers from the top teams in the country. Some of his most recent offers include Ohio State, Penn St., Michigan State, Virginia Tech, Clemson, South Carolina, and Missouri.

Season Tickets —  Heard County High School football reserved seats for the up and coming 2016 year are now available. If you are a return seat holder the deadline to confirm you want to continue to hold your seats is June 1st.
