(Franklin) — Each week during the sports season, brings you a weekly wrap-up of Brave Nation sports including news, notes, a weekly schedule, and the Brave Nation Player of the Week.

Heard County Invitational Golf Tourney — The Heard County Invitational Golf Tournament takes place on June 9 at Oak Mountain Country Club in Carrollton. For more information on playing in or sponsoring the tournament contact Coach Barron at 770-712-1363 or via email at

Hall of Fame Inaugural Class — The Heard County Athletics Hall of Fame Committee announced its first class of selected inductees this week. To see the list of first ballot members click here.

Summer Athletic Camps for Youth — Several youth sports camps are being offered in the upcoming weeks. See the schedule and links below for more information.

Brave Nation Player of the Week

Kay POWThe Brave Nation Player of the Week is HHS Senior Mr. Lee Kay.

Kay finished off an outstanding career with the Braves by being named the Region 5-AA Player of the Year for the second time in four years. Kay finished his senior season with a .469 average with 2 homers, 3 triples, and 33 RBI’s.

Braves on ESPN — The Braves are under contract to play one of the regular season football games on the ESPN family of networks this fall. Stay tuned to for further information next week.
