(Franklin) — Each week during the sports season, HeardCitizen.com brings you a weekly wrap-up of Brave Nation sports including news, notes, a weekly schedule, and the Brave Nation Player of the Week.

NEWS AND NOTES

Midnight Madness — The 6th Annual ‘Midnight Madness’ kickoff to the Brave varsity football season will take place on Friday night, July 29 at Midnight.

Season Football Tickets —  Heard County High School football reserved seats for the up and coming 2016 year are now available. For more information, contact Mandy Stephens @ 706-594-2916. The reserved seat Paid in Full Deadline is August 12.

Jiles POWBrave Nation Player of the Week: The Player of the Week is HCPR softball player Makayla Jiles.

Makayla helped lead the 12U Lady Braves to a district championship last month in Douglas County.

Congratulations to Makayla for being named this week’s Player of the Week!

Season Opener — The Braves will open the 2016 varsity football season at South Atlanta on August 19. The home opener at Staples Stadium is the following Friday, August 26 versus Greenville.

Rival Rumble — The Lady Braves softball team will host a Saturday round robin tripleheader rival rumble this season versus departed region rivals Bowdon and Bremen.

Baseball Signings — Three Brave baseball players announced plans to play at the next level this week: They are Tristan Brown (Point University), Keagan Spradlin (Point University), and Lee Kay (Florida Southwestern)
