Brave Nation Weekly News & Notes (09/28/15)

(Franklin) — Each week HeardCitizen.com brings you a weekly wrap-up of Brave Nation sports including news, notes, a weekly schedule, and the Brave Nation Player of the Week.

NEWS AND NOTES

3rd Annual Pink Out! — The Braves Region 5-AA clash with Manchester on Friday, October 16 will also be the third annual Pink Out game for cancer awareness. Stay tuned for further details in the coming days.

Game Changers — The 6U Grey flag game and the 8U football game that were to be hosted last Saturday at HCPR have been rescheduled this week as part of a Tuesday night doubleheader. See schedule below for game times and match-ups.

New Photos — To see photos from last week’s HCMS 8th grade appreciation day and this weekend’s youth football visit The Heard County Brave Nation on Facebook.

Roro POWBrave Nation Player of the Week: The Player of the Week is 10U football player Mr. Erozinis Edmondson, Jr.

RoRo was instrumental in the Braves’ 28-0 win over Carroll Co. Saturday with 2 TD runs, 1 kickoff return TD, and a fumble recovery.

Congrats to Erozinis  for being named this week’s Player of the Week.

Sharing The Record — Anna Shelnutt homered for the 8th time this season in a 20-1 win over Temple Thursday. The blast put Anna into a tie with Cali Harrod for the all-time Heard County record.

JV Knot — The JV Braves finished Thursday’s game in a 20-20 tie with Callaway. Gage Cannon, Andrew Leak, and David Urquilla had scores for the Braves.

Rained Out Broadcast — The planned GameCube for Friday night’s game at Macon County was unable to be broadcast due to the weather.

Winningest Coach — Tim Barron has by far the most wins in Heard County High School football history with 104. Second on the list is Norris Vaugn (1984-90) with 41. Third is Eddie Payne with 36 and fourth is the Braves first coach Danny Pounds with 18. Rounding out the top seven are Vernon Kidd (17), Ralph Sanders (6), and Tony Byram (5).
