NEWS AND NOTES

1st Band Competition — The Marching Braves will compete in their first competition of 2015 when they travel to Haralson County this Saturday for the Golden River Marching Festival. The Marching Braves will perform at 2:00 PM in the Class A Silver Division. The awards ceremony will take place at 9:30 PM. (Directions)

Pink-Out Proceeds — The money raised during the 2015 Pink-Out will be donated to Breast Cancer Research in the memory of Ginger Stutts. Everyone is encouraged to wear pink at this Friday night’s game vs. Manchester.

Anna POW 3Brave Nation Player of the Week: The Player of the Week is senior varsity softball catcher Ms. Anna Shelnutt.

Shelnutt set the single season Heard County record for home runs Monday with her 9th of the season in a 3-2 win over Columbus.

Congrats to Anna  for being named this week’s Player of the Week!

Brave Effort — The 12U Braves put up quite a battle at Villa Rica Saturday against one of the best teams in West Georgia. The Braves lost 14-7 but the effort was impressive given the laundry list of injuries suffered by the team this year including several broken bones.

Mud Bog — Overnight rains Friday night made for some changes to Saturday’s sports schedules. The Lady Braves region championship game had to be postponed until today at 6:00 PM because of the muddy field in Bremen and Saturday’s 12U football game had to be moved from the V-Plex to Villa Rica High School.
