Brave Nation Weekly News & Notes (11/15/17)

(Franklin) — Each week during the sports season, brings you a weekly wrap-up of Brave Nation sports including news, notes, a weekly schedule, and the Brave Nation Player of the Week.

Anyone who would like to submit information for the weekly column, a question about anything Brave related, or a nomination for Player of the Week please email with either “News and Notes” or  “Player of the Week” in the subject line.


Varsity Football Playoff — The Braves will host Pepperell this Friday, November 17 in the second round of the GHSA Class AA State Playoffs. Fans are encouraged to support a “Loud-Out” by making as much noise as possible.

Basketball Scrimmages — The girls and boys varsity basketball teams will host Lagrange in scrimmages on November 15, 2017 at HHS (6:00/7:30).

Brave Nation Player of the Week

The Brave Nation Player of the Week is varsity football player Mr. Emory Jones.

Emory had another big game for the Braves in week one of the state playoffs passing for over 200 yards and three TD’s while rushing for another TD on the ground.

He also passed the 5000 yard mark in career passing in the first quarter and holds virtually every Heard County passing record.

Congratulations to Emory for being named this week’s Brave Nation Player of the Week!

Noisemakers at the Gate — HHS student council and the National Honor Society will be selling noisemakers for $2 each at the game this Friday vs. Pepperell.

Friday Night Radio Broadcast — This Friday’s playoff game vs. Pepperell will be broadcast again on B92.1 Country from Carrollton.
