Braves back home today after close loss to Tigers

(Roanoke, AL) — The Brave varsity baseball team rallied for four runs in the top of the seventh inning before falling 7-6 to the Tigers in a non-region game Tuesday at Handley.

The Braves trailed 7-2 entering the final inning. The Tigers struck first with two in the bottom of the first before the Braves tied it with single runs in the second and third innings.

Tanner Collins led the way offensively with two hits and two RBI’s including a double.

The two hit effort raised Collins’ season batting average to .300.

Senior Bryan Jones had two hits and drove home one. Tray Owens and Will Hammett each had an RBI.

The Braves (2-8) return to action this afternoon in Franklin for an added game versus Eagles Landing Christian with a first pitch time of 5:55 PM.

The Braves will host Brookstone Saturday at 1:00 PM before opening important Region 5-AA play next Tuesday at Lamar County (5:30 PM first pitch).
