Braves defeat Blue Devils 47-45

(Franklin, GA) — Coach Keith Simmons and the Heard County Braves continued their winning ways knocking off the Bremen Blue Devils 47-45 at home Tuesday night.

After the Devils bounced back from a nine point deficit to tie the game, freshman Jameer Cook came through with a game-winning layup with just seven seconds to play to put the Braves on top for good.

Senior Alijah Huzzie led the squad in scoring with 20 points including five 3-point baskets in the first half and sophmore Khalil Cofield again reached double-digits with 10 points.

Senior Tray Dunson had a solid game defensively and scored seven points.

The win puts the Braves in sole possession of third place in Region 5-AA with a road match-up at second place Callaway this Friday night in Lagrange.

In girls’ action, the Lady Braves fell to the Devils 53-46 and will also be back in action Friday night at Callaway.
