Junior Tristan Brown collected four hits in Tuesday’s region win over Manchester
(Franklin) — The Braves varsity baseball team moved to 13-7 on the season and 10-3 in Region 5-AA play Tuesday after defeating the visiting Manchester Blue Devils 9-3.
Junior Tristan Brown led the way offensively going 4-4 with a triple and three RBI’s as well as two stolen bases.
On the hill, freshman Lee Kay picked up the win after pitching four strong innings in relief of starter Zack Stephens. Kay allowed one earned run on a homer and struck out seven batters over four innings. Senior Taylor Smith pitched the 7th inning to close out the game.
Dakota Christopher also had two hits and drove in two of the Braves runs.
The Braves travel to Ranburne, AL this Friday before returning to Alford Field on Tuesday for a huge contest with Region 5-AA leaders Bremen.
Bremen is currently one of only two undefeated teams in the state of Georgia across all classifications with a record of 18-0. The Braves lost a heartbreaker 3-2 at Bremen on March 20.
