(Lagrange, GA) — The Brave baseball team dropped a close match-up with Troup County Thursday, falling by a 3-2 score on the road.
Senior Trey Alford had a solid effort on the mound for Coach Bianco and the Braves, tossing six innings and allowing just four hits and two earned runs while striking out two.
The Tigers pushed across a run in the bottom of the fifth to take the 3-2 lead. Offensively, the Braves were led by Logan Ward and Lee Kay. Ward had two base hits and scored a run while Kay had a base hit and a run-scoring sacrifice fly.
Auston Wilson had a double and freshman Caden Raines added a base hit and scored a run.
Starting pitcher Jarred Helton keyed the win for the Tigers, scattering five hits over six innings.
The Braves will be back in action tomorrow when they travel to Atlanta to face off with Pace Academy.
The JV Braves will battle Pace at 11:00 AM followed by the Brave varsity game at 2:00 PM.
