The AJC Georgia High School football rankings were released at 4:30 Sunday afternoon and the undefeated Heard County Braves (4-0, 2-0) made their first appearance since 2007 with a #8 ranking .

The Braves handily defeated Region 5-AA  foe Kendrick Friday night 42-14 while other ranked teams including rival 5-AA Bowdon were beaten. The Red Devils were upset 19-13 by Manchester.

Ranked just ahead of the Braves are former region opponents the Lamar County Trojans (3-0-1).
