Head coach Kyle Yates was pleased with the wins but knows his guys still have work to do.

“My upper weight guys wrestled well tonight, but still have to get in better shape and I still have get some guys in the weight classes I want them in,” said Yates after the meet.

“I am very proud of Eli Fairbanks for bumping up a weight class for the team and getting a crucial win against Callaway!”

Fairbanks, a sophomore, wrestled in the 132-pound weight class rather than his normal 120.

The Braves will now head to a huge Chattahoochee River Wrestling Association tournament tomorrow and Saturday at Central High School.

The two-day tourney will feature some excellent wrestling including 15 teams from Central, Pike Co., Lagrange, Bowdon, Callaway, Hardaway, Alexander, Douglas County, Northgate, Harris Co., Troup, Haralson Co., Chapel Hill, and Mt. Zion.
