Armed robbery at local convenience store

The State Line Convenience Store was allegedly robbed at gunpoint Thursday night around 11:30 PM by two masked gunmen. No arrests have been made.

(Franklin, GA) — Authorities are investigating an armed robbery that occurred Thursday night at the State Line Convenience Store located on HWY 34 just inside the Alabama state line in western Heard County.

According to a report by Investigator Kenneth Hester with the Heard County Sheriff’s Office, the incident involving two suspects occurred around 11:30 p.m. last night.

Witness accounts indicate two black male subjects, dressed in all black and wearing ski masks allegedly arrived at the store in possession of both a handgun and a rifle.

Upon entering the store the suspect carrying the hand gun allegedly fired a shot into the counter and demanded the store clerk give them all the money.

The suspects left the store with an undisclosed amount of cash and it is also believed they fired an additional round into the air outside. No injuries were reported.

Currently, no suspects are in custody and the investigation is still ongoing.

  3. Just very grateful my employee and nobody was hurt. I pray they catch these dangerous guys. They coulda killed someone!!! Thanks to them, my store will be closed before dark…..
