Authorities seek suspect in overnight store burglary

Local authorities are asking anyone with any information about the man pictured above to call 911 or the HC Sheriff's Office immediately.

Local authorities are asking anyone with any information about the man pictured above to call 911 or the HC Sheriff’s Office immediately.

(Franklin, GA) — The Heard County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s help in identifying a suspect in an overnight burglary.

According to a report from Investigator Sgt. Dan Boswell, the suspect was a passenger in a newer model white Ford panel van.

He allegedly broke into and entered Five Point Grocery located at the intersection of U.S. Highway 27 and GA Highway 100 just south of Franklin.

The suspect allegedly took a safe from the store around midnight.

The van appeared to have went back to U.S. Highway 27, with an unknown direction of travel after turning toward Highway 27.

If anyone has any information concerning this suspect’s name or whereabouts, please contact Heard County 911 immediately or call the Heard County Sheriff’s Office at (706) 675-3329.
