Body found in Heard County along with missing woman’s car

(Franklin, GA) — Heard County law enforcement confirmed today that the vehicle of missing 27-year-old Natalie Jones was been discovered this afternoon in a wooded area well off the roadway near the intersection of Roosterville Road and Welcome Road in northern Heard County.

The vehicle (a Hot Pink 2002 Chevy Cavalier) was located by an local resident that was doing some bush hogging work in the area.

Authorities also confirmed that the body of a female was located inside the vehicle but a positive identification will not be possible until an autopsy can be performed.

Jones, a mother of two and a Heard County resident, has been missing since July 5, 2020.

Jones was last seen leaving a 4th of July party in Jackson’s Gap, Alabama around 10:30 PM.

The Heard County Sheriff’s Office with the assistance of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation has been actively searching for Jones ever since.

Officials say Jones last sent a text message to a friend saying, quote: ”I made it! Thanks.”

The story has received some national attention in recent weeks including coverage from Dr. Phil and Nancy Grace.

    Lord, I earnestly pray that you comfort this family and her children with peace and love for each other. I pray Father that justice is served on the ones involved with this. I pray for her parents, her Mother is devastated, from the looks of her on TV. Bless her, I’m a mother and can’t even imagine the pain she’s endured in not knowing what or where she was or went thru. May God wrap his arms around you all. In Jesus’ name I pray. I’m sooo very sorry. My heart is breaking and I don’t even know any of them, this is just horrible.
