(Franklin, GA) — Law enforcement and a Franklin family are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing white male.

According to Heard County investigator Deborah Williamson, 22-year-old Austin Cole Scarborough of Franklin has not been seen or heard from since Thursday, June 30.

Family members say that Scarborough walked away from his home at 778 Cherry Road sometime in the late afternoon hours and has not been seen since.

Cherry Road is located just a few miles east of the city of Franklin near HWY 34.

His father, Billy Scarborough, says Austin had no money or cell phone when he walked away from his home that day. Austin is the father of a 1-year-old son.

“We are just asking that if anyone that has seen Austin would please call the police,” said Billy Scarborough today. “We are very worried and concerned for his well-being.”

Austin Scarborough stands 5-feet 11 inches tall and weighs between 180-200 pounds. He has green eyes and brown hair.

Investigators believe he may be in the Villa Rica/Carroll County area but that is not a certainty.

The family is organizing a search party to scour the area near his home this Saturday.

“Anybody out there who would like to help us search for Austin can meet at 778 Cherry Road at 8:00 AM this Saturday morning,” says Billy Scarborough.

Other family members and friends have been sharing Austin’s photo and information on social media this week but to no avail.

Anyone with any information about Austin Scarborough’s whereabouts is asked to call the Heard County Sheriff’s Office at 706-675-3329.
