33-year-old Reinaldo Wishon Reid, is charged with four felony counts of ‘Invasion of Privacy’ after allegedly taking lewd upskirt type photos of multiple female coworkers without their prior knowledge or consent.

According to a report by Heard County Sheriff’s Office investigator Sgt. Dan Boswell, the alleged incidents took place over a period of several months at Heard Elementary School beginning in December of 2018 and concluding in April of 2019.

One of the victims, a fellow teacher, allegedly found Reid’s phone in a non-student bathroom on April 8, 2019 and immediately reported the incident to school authorities and the HCSO which led to the initial investigation.

Sgt. Boswell says that his investigation concluded that no students or minors were involved in any of the incidents and that each of the victims were adult teachers and/or staff members at the school.

The HCSO investigator says there were other victims involved that declined to press charges in the case. He also stated that evidence was found that Reid had used the phone in several other public places but that those victims were unable to be identified.

Sgt. Boswell adds that the investigation took additional time to complete as he and the Sheriff’s Office worked to identify and interview as many of the victims as possible. He adds that Reid was very bold — even attempting to capture the alleged secret photos when other witnesses were nearby.

The charge of Invasion of Privacy in Georgia (GA CODE § 16-11-91: Use or installation of device to film underneath or through an individual’s clothing under certain circumstances) carries, upon conviction, a punishment of imprisonment of not less than one year nor more than five years, a fine of not more than $10,000.00, or both, or in the discretion of the court, as for a misdemeanor.

The Heard County School System released the following statement Monday afternoon regarding its handling of the situation and Reid’s employment status:

“Mr. Reid resigned his position as a teacher on April 8, 2019 in lieu of a Fair Dismissal Hearing. The alleged incident that led to his resignation was immediately reported to the Heard County Sheriff’s Department for investigation. The alleged incident involved no minors and all parties affected were notified as more evidence was brought to light. A report to the Georgia Professional Standards Commission regarding the incident was immediately made by district officials. Mr. Reid no longer possesses a Georgia teaching certificate. Mr. Reid served as a long term substitute teacher at Heard County Elementary School from April 13, 2018 through May 29, 2018. He was employed as a full time teacher at HCES from August 1, 2018 until his resignation on April 8, 2019.” ~ The Heard County School System (August 19, 2019)

Reid is a former graduate of HCHS and also served as an assistant basketball coach at Heard County Middle School prior to his resignation.
