Fox 5 Atlanta to experience ‘Friday Night in Franklin’

(Franklin, GA) — It was made official Thursday afternoon after all the online votes were counted that Fox 5 Atlanta would be in attendance at the Braves’ Friday night Region 5-AA football game versus Temple at Staples Stadium in Franklin.

Brave and Tiger voters worked hard all week to bring the major news network to town for the Region 5-AA opening contest for each team.

The game will feature a battle between the 4-1 Braves and the undefeated (4-0) Tigers.

Heard High School assistant principal Maggie Williams released a statement Thursday afternoon thanking voters and encouraging everyone in the community to arrive at the game early and show off a tremendous amount of community and school spirit for the big event.

gotw“First, we would like to thank everyone for voting and caring so much about our school and community that you would take a great deal of time and effort to vote so that we can showcase for the state what we get to see at ‘Friday night in Franklin’ each and every week,” said Williams.

High 5 Sports is expected to arrive in Franklin at around 4:00 PM Friday and will film several pregame interviews and game action segments for the Friday night news broadcasts. The Fox 5 crew may also be seen around the downtown Franklin area Friday afternoon.

“We would like to welcome the community out to our campus to tailgate in the parking area before the game!  Our plan is to have a huge (and very loud) crowd for this super, important first Region 5-AA game,” stated Williams.

“The Tigers are 4-0 and have a bunch of real exciting things going on with their program! We are anticipating a very good and determined team coming into Staples Stadium tomorrow night. We need everyone’s support here to cheer on the Braves and get region play started off right! Thanks for all that you do, the love, support, and all the extras for the kids that make Heard County High School and #BraveNation the best in Georgia!”
