(Franklin, GA) — Investigators with the Franklin Police Department are searching for a person of interest after a local man was shot in the arm during an armed robbery Monday.

According to a report from Chief Kevin Hannah, officers responded to a call at 291 Mary Johnson Drive at 9:55 p.m. on Monday evening.

Upon arrival they found that 29-year-old Sharome Watts had been shot in the arm.

After shooting him, the man robbed an undisclosed amount of cash from Watts and fled the scene through a back door.

Lead investigator Tino Brooks with the FPD is currently following up on several leads and is seeking information from a person of interest outside of Heard County although no one has been named as an official suspect at this time.

A 9mm shell casing was recovered at the scene. The suspect is facing numerous charges including armed robbery and aggravated assault.
