(Raleigh, NC) — For the seventh time in eight seasons under head coach Lonni Alameda, the Florida State Seminoles will be competing for the ACC Championship after No. 6 Florida State (47-8) defeated North Carolina (31-23) by a score of 7-1 on Friday afternoon at Dail Stadium.

The Noles improve to 14-3 all-time against the Tar Heels in the ACC Tournament.

Talented local shortstop Cali Harrod had one of her most impressive games of the season with a first inning double and a lead-off homer in the fifth that opened up a 5-1 lead for the Noles.

Cali is having a monster ACC Tourney so far going 4-for-5 with the home run, two doubles, two RBI’s, and three runs scored over two games.

The Seminoles run-ruled Pittsburgh 8-0 in the tourney opener on Thursday.

Alameda was very proud of Cali’s great start to the tournament. “Cali had a big day and I was so excited for her as she’s been working so hard lately and it was great to see that show up in the game today” said Alameda Friday after the game.

Cali and the Noles will battle the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame in the ACC Title game at N.C. State tomorrow. The Irish defeated Lousiville 4-2 in today’s other semi-final.

Tomorrow’s game will be broadcast on ESPN with a first pitch at 2:00 PM.
