Highway 100 shut down after major truck collision

(Franklin, Ga) – An accident on Hwy 100 between Franklin and Corinth this morning caused the temporary closing of the highway as crews worked to clean up debris.

The Georgia State Patrol reports that a dump truck driven by Kevin Jermaine Henderson, age 40, from LaGrange was attempting to make a left turn when a log truck collided with the rear of the truck.

The report indicates that the log truck, driven by Bryan Pike, age 27, of Hogansville left the roadway with the trailer separating from the cab before coming to rest in the woodline.

The dump truck also ended up in the roadside ditch.

Pike, the only person injured in the accident was airlifted to Atlanta Medical Center for treatment.
