Local business burglarized; stolen truck recovered

A Franklin business was burglarized sometime between Friday night and Saturday morning resulting in the theft of a pickup truck, an undisclosed amount of cash, and other miscellaneous items including a ladder.

An employee of Hall’s Propane discovered the break in upon arrival at work Saturday morning.

The most valuable item taken was a 2001 Chevrolet 2500 HD company pickup truck that was removed from the parking lot.

Lieutenant Tino Brooks with the Franklin Police Department reports that the truck was later found abandoned near a creek in Rock Mills, Alabama.

No further details are available at this time as the investigation is still ongoing. Hall’s Propane is located at 2084 Franklin Parkway near the Hardee’s restaurant.

Based on employee testimony, the theft is believed to have occurred between 10:30 p.m. Friday night and 8:00 a.m. Saturday morning.
