(Newnan, GA) — Tuesday’s winter storm and hazardous road conditions left a Franklin family with few options late last night when young Allison Roquemore went into labor with her very first baby.
Allison and the baby’s father Jacob Adams piled into a 4 x 4 truck along with the baby’s grandparents Brandy and Eric Cook just prior to midnight and headed out for a long and difficult two-hour journey to Piedmont Hospital in Newnan.
After finally arriving safely, Allison delivered a healthy baby boy this morning at 7:53 a.m.
Referred to as “Blizzard Baby” by many on facebook who followed the family’s journey during the night, little Awbrey Rue Adams burst into this world weighing in at eight pounds even and measuring out at 20.5 inches long.
“It’s been a life changing experience, but I couldn’t be a prouder daddy,” said the new father Jacob Adams earlier today.
Road conditions remain treacherous as of noon today and authorities are still advising people to stay off the roads if at all possible as temperatures remain in the 20′s at this time.
