Outbreak of new COVID-19 cases at Franklin Nursing Home

(Franklin, GA) — A total of seven news cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed this week at the PruittHealth Franklin location according to the Georgia Department of Community Health’s Long-Term Care Facility COVID-19 Report.

The daily report issued Monday through Friday by the GDCH shows COVID-19 cases in licensed nursing homes, assisted living communities and personal care homes of 25 beds or more based on data reported by the facilities to the Georgia Department of Public Health.

There were three new positive cases among nursing home patients added to the report on Friday, while four new cases among staff members were reported between Tuesday and Wednesday.

Entering this week, the facility had previously reported only two cases among residents with one death and one total case among staff with no deaths since the coronavirus pandemic began.

The resident census in the GDCH report indicates the facility housed between 69-73 residents this week.

As of 8:00 AM Sunday morning, the PruittHealth Emergency Preparedness page is still not reporting any of the new cases or CODE RED alerts for the South River Road location.

The Heard Citizen reached out to the Pruitthealth Communications Department for comment early Saturday afternoon and will provide an update once a statement is received.
