Teen dies from injuries suffered in crash

(Lagrange, GA) — A teen passed away earlier today after being involved in a two-vehicle collision in Lagrange Saturday evening.

16-year-old Marquavious Strickland, of Lagrange, died Sunday morning at Grady Hospital in Atlanta, where he had been flown for treatment following the crash.

According to reports, it was just after 7:00 p.m. Saturday when police responded to the intersection of Fourth Avenue and Forrest Avenue in Lagrange regarding a collision involving a dirt bike and an automobile.

The preliminary investigation determined that the crash happened when a Honda Accord driven by a 64-year-old LaGrange man took a left hand turn on Forrest Avenue from Fourth Avenue.

At that time, a Kawasaki dirt bike operated by Strickland, traveling east on Fourth Avenue, attempted to pass in a no passing zone.

In doing so, the dirt bike struck the car on the driver’s side.

The driver of the car was not injured, and the investigation is ongoing.
