Troup car crash kills 5

(Lagrange, GA) – HeardCitizen.com has confirmed that a fatal crash in Troup County claimed the lives of five people.

According to Gordy Wright, public information officer with the Georgia State Patrol, the crash occurred on West Point Road southwest of LaGrange at Old West Point Road at 6:45 p.m. Friday evening.

Initial reports by Wright indicate a head-on collision between two passenger vehicles, with the at-fault driver as one of the fatalities.

In addition to the five fatalities, two other people have reportedly been airlifted from the scene to area hospitals, one to Columbus and another to Atlanta Medical Center.

Troopers are still on the scene investigating. Names and additional information about the victims has not been released at this time.
