Rutledge Cafe Attorney to Speak to City Council Tonight (Updated)

Councilman Jimmy Hamil

According to Franklin City Clerk Myra Braswell, an attorney for the Rutledge Cafe has asked to address the council during tonight’s monthly meeting.

Ellis Smith will address the council under old business. Braswell sated that she does not know exactly what he will be discussing. Tensions have been high at the last few meetings as the council has addressed the city alcohol regulations.

Councilman Hamil distributed a flyer around town prior to last month’s meetings that several Rutledge supporters took exception to.

The meeting will begin at 6:00 pm at Franklin City Hall. Beer and wine applications will also be discussed under new business.

(UPDATE: Ellis Smith notified City Attorney David Mecklin before the meeting that he would not be in attendance)
