Broadway Comes to Franklin

(Franklin, GA) – Broadway Comes to Franklin will return to the stage on Tuesday, May 14 at 6:30 p.m. The show will take place at Heard County Middle School. This is Broadway Comes to Franklin’s fifth year of production and consists of one of the most advanced shows musically that the cast has ever attempted.

The show is under the direction of new chorus director Jonathon Greene and student director senior Gracie Rowe. Rowe stated “I am very excited about this year’s show. It has some funny songs like it does every year, but this year we are tackling some very emotional and serious songs as well. Our cast is incredibly talented and I have no doubt in my mind that this show would entertain any audience.”

“We have a wide variety of songs from many different musicals. We’ve really got something to appeal to everyone. There are some classics but there are also some songs from musicals that have released on Broadway in the last few years,” stated senior cast member Christina Cole.

To conclude the show, the cast has invited members of the casts from the previous five years to join them for their traditional closing song “Seasons of Love,” from the musical “Rent.” This is a tradition for Broadway Comes to Franklin that the new director is planning to continue.

Director Greene would like to invite everyone to the show stating “These kids have worked incredibly hard to put on a phenomenal show. We would love to have the community’s support and hope to see everyone there opening night.”
