Brown named Heard County Recreation Director

Mr. Chad Brown was appointed this week as the new Heard County Recreation Director by Commission Chair June Jackson.

Mr. Brown is currently a student at the University of West Georgia majoring in Physical Education with an Associate’s Level Degree to be completed in the Spring of 2013.

He has been with the Heard County Recreation Department since 2008 and has been the Athletic Assistant/Assistant Director since November 2009.

Mr. Brown was appointed Interim Director in August of this year when the Director resigned.

 “Chad has really stepped up to the plate when it comes to leadership,” said Commission Chair Jackson. “He pays close attention to all aspects of the recreation department from grounds management to programs to employees’ needs. Chad has a good relationship with the coaches at the Heard County Middle School and Heard County High School.  He has made some really good changes and has many good ideas for the future of the Heard County Sports Complex.”
