Carrollton Company Raises over 3,000 Cans of Food for the Needy

Addison Smith, a Carrollton company decided to team up with Open Hands United Christian Ministry this year and sponsored a canned food drive which raised over 3,000 cans of food during the holiday season.

They received support through their employees, customers, and two local vendors (Pilgrim’s Pride and Maplehurst) who allowed them to place collection boxes at their facilities.[gpslideshow]

Open Hands United Christian Ministry of Carrollton, GA is a collaborative effort of several local churches within the Carroll County community.

Since its inception in September 2011, Open Hands has helped more than 300 households within the Carrollton and Central School districts. They have provided over 7,000 pounds worth of food to families and individuals in need.

The organization also offers help in several other ways including not only just food but also reading glasses, warm winter clothing, blankets,  and personal care items such as soap, toothbrushes, and toothpaste.

Financial Assistance for housing and utility expenses are also provided. Addison Smith is a mechanical contracting company located in Carrollton that specializes in heating, cooling, and plumbing.
