(Centralhatchee, GA) — Prior to the end of the school year some local elementary students enjoyed a fun day of exercise for a good cause.

Mrs. Tracey Hunt’s fifth grade class at Centralhatchee Elementary raised funds by hosting a school “color run” as a part of their yearly community service project.

The class made an awesome donation of $827.52 to the ‘Veterans Helping Veterans’ program sponsored by American Legion Post 148 in Franklin.

The fifth graders hosted the event on the school playground while the rest of the school participated in the fun and exciting day by purchasing color run kits that included t-shirts and sunglasses.

If you would like to follow the lead of these young citizens and help a veteran from Heard County who is in need please contact Durell Langley with American Legion Post 148 at 678-575-6945.

All donations are tax deductible.
