Chairman issues National Vietnam Veterans Day Proclamation

(Franklin, GA) — The James Stewart Chapter, NSDAR, accepted a proclamation on Wednesday, March 27, 2019, from Lee Boone, Commission Chairman, Heard County Board of Commissioners.

The proclamation was in response to the Vietnam War Veterans Recognition Act of 2017 making March 29th a National holiday.

The wording in the proclamation encourages Heard County citizens to “gratefully acknowledge the honorable military service of our Vietnam Veterans in both public and private ceremonies and in private thoughts and prayers”.

The proclamation also states, “We can never fully repay our debt or gratitude to those men and women who served, were wounded, or even died in battle, and this represents the opportunity for the people of Heard County to honor and thank our Veterans for their service to our country.”
